Terms and conditions

Estas condiciones complementan el catálogo oficial de BlueMoon Travel y aplican a todas las experiencias con salida desde Uyuni y desde San Pedro de Atacama. Al confirmar una reserva el pasajero declara conocerlas.

01Tickets and entrance fees

Entrance fees to the sites are not included unless the quote says so expressly. They are paid in cash, in local currency, at each place: Incahuasi Island, the Eduardo Avaroa National Reserve, the hot springs and the Atacama parks. The amounts are set by the communities and the authorities and may change without notice.

02Rainy season

Between December and March the salt flats may be covered in water. The mirror effect depends on natural conditions and cannot be guaranteed. In that season routes and timings are adjusted for safety, and some places, such as Incahuasi Island, may be out of reach.

03Rubber boots on loan

When there is water on the salt flats we lend rubber boots free of charge, subject to the sizes available. They must be returned at the end of the trip in the condition they were handed over in.

04Route changes

The driver-guide may change the order of the stops, or swap one site for another, for reasons of weather, safety, road conditions or rules set by the communities and the authorities. We always look for the alternative closest to what was planned.

05Meals and dietary restrictions

The meals listed in each programme are included. Tell us in advance about allergies, intolerances or vegetarian or vegan preferences so we can prepare for them; some special requests may carry an extra cost.

06Rooms and lodging

Standard lodging on the expeditions may mean a shared room and bathroom, limited electricity and hot water subject to availability. A private room, a private bathroom or an upgrade are requested with the quote and confirmed only once the accommodation replies.

07Luggage

Because space in the 4x4s is limited, we recommend one backpack or medium bag per person on the expeditions. Luggage that stays behind is stored free of charge at BlueMoon Café Restobar; valuables remain the traveler's own responsibility.

08Safety

Every vehicle carries a first aid kit and the driver-guides know the protocol for descending if a passenger develops altitude sickness. Travelers must follow the guide's instructions, above all at viewpoints, geysers and hot springs. We recommend taking out travel insurance.

09Weather conditions

The Altiplano brings sharp swings in temperature and wind. Bring layers, sunscreen, sunglasses and water. Outdoor activities may be suspended because of electrical storms, snowfall or road closures, and that does not count as a breach on BlueMoon's part.

10Quotes and bookings

Every quote is personalized and depends on the date, the number of passengers, whether the tour is shared or private, the lodging and any add-on services. The booking is confirmed in writing once the conditions and the payment are agreed; the payment details and the meeting point are sent on WhatsApp or by email.

11Cancellation and changes policy

The booking is confirmed with a deposit. Cancellations notified in writing 15 days or more in advance: 100% of the deposit refunded, less bank charges. Between 14 and 7 days before: 50% refunded. With less than 7 days' notice, or for a no-show: no refund, except in documented cases of force majeure. Date changes are free up to 7 days before departure and are subject to availability. If BlueMoon has to call off a departure because of weather, road closures or instructions from the authorities, it offers to reschedule or to refund 100% of what was paid.
